Who We Are
PLAYI is a dedicated community participant for making gaming both more affordable and accessible. We're ALSO pushing the boundaries of what is possible in both complexity of rendering fidelity, gameplay systems and mechanics.
We're just 2 people. Me; a solo developer and my fiancé who supports the dream. I've been working on PLAYI for just under 2 years now - it has gone through substantial revisions and iterations to make it as efficient as possible, almost obsessively, to my partner's frustration.
I think that gaming deserves the best. I started gaming when I was young, and was hooked right away. My dad and I played Alex Kidd together on the Sega. He bought me my first console for Christmas; A PS1, with MediEvil and Spyro.
I want everyone to be able to experience this, regardless of their financial situation or 'disposable' income. One of my goals is to always release a free title on Christmas. Something to look forward to, a surprise.
And it's not a pipe dream anymore, I'm working hard to make it happen. I've run the numbers, worked out the budgets. It's possible, and if supported: Inevitable.
We aren't seeking only financial support. Interaction, suggestions, questions. I've been stuck in a small room alone for 14 hours a day 7 days a week putting the system together. I will treasure any feedback. Scepticism, criticism, it's all invaluable to ensure I'm on the right path for preserving what you value from gaming.
